CodeDev Group launches dev studio Full Spectrum Interactive

Briefing

CodeDev Group, better known as The Unreal Guys, has spun up a new studio called Full Spectrum Interactive. The studio is headed by Matt Southern, with Christian McKinney as CCO and Rob Williams as CTO, alongside group leadership including Rik Alexander, Myke Parrott, and Nina Cliff.

FSI is targeting original prototypes, small-to-AA releases, and full project co-development. That mix matters for developers because it points to a studio built for flexible staffing and fast ramp-up rather than a single long-running production line. For teams that need specialist support without committing to a large permanent headcount, that model can be a practical way to de-risk production.

The studio will also draw on talent from CodeDev’s existing Unreal-focused engineering group and its optimisation arm, The Performance Guys. In practice, that should give FSI access to senior support in engineering, design, and technical art, which is especially relevant for projects that need strong performance work alongside content production.

Rob Williams framed the setup as a way to bring in senior staff quickly and then scale back down without losing institutional knowledge. Southern described the studio as an interdisciplinary effort built to deliver games that are both creatively ambitious and technically reliable. For developers, the interesting question is how well this kind of shared-services structure holds up once multiple projects are in flight.

“Access to the CodeDev team is a great luxury for a small studio like us.”
