Game Developer Association of India picks 15 studios for first Supernova cohort
The Game Developer Association of India has kicked off its first Supernova incubation cohort, selecting 15 studios from a pool of more than 260 applicants. The program is aimed at early-stage teams that need more than advice: it bundles mentorship, industry credits, and direct introductions to publishers and investors into a three-month runway.
Supernova is running with support from Tencent, IVIPRO, SpielFabrique, Indus Appstore, Mintegral, and Lakshya Digital. Indus Appstore is also offering priority onboarding plus ad credits, which makes the program especially relevant for teams thinking about launch, user acquisition, and live-market validation rather than just prototype development.
The cohort will culminate in a Demo Day at this year’s India Game Developers Conference, giving the selected studios a public pitch moment in front of industry partners. GDAI says the initiative sits alongside its broader work in talent development, global outreach, and policy advocacy, with the association representing more than 200 member studios.
For developers, the bigger signal is that India’s ecosystem is building more structured support for small studios trying to bridge the gap between making a game and getting it to market. The selected teams include Absurd Games, Team Quasar, AbhiTech Games, Konkan Coast Studios, and others, but the exact project scopes and team sizes haven’t been disclosed.
“The selection of this inaugural cohort marks the beginning of a focused journey for these 15 studios.”
