Play the Wreck Runners September Update Early with XBOX Insiders
Xbox is opening an early Wreck Runners playtest to Xbox Insiders on Series X|S, giving players a chance to try content planned for the September update before it ships. The test is free, does not require owning the game, and supports crews of up to four as they head back into the Triangle.
The build includes several notable gameplay additions: temples as a new salvage location, runner color customization, a hostile underwater enemy, Paranormal Progression for new run-to-run choices, Trustwell Lost Salvage for exploration rewards, plus new hazards and interface improvements. For developers, this is the kind of update that can shift both moment-to-moment pacing and long-term run structure, so early feedback should be especially valuable.
Localization is also part of the test. The build adds support for 15 languages, including Arabic, German, Latin American Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Xbox is specifically asking players in those languages to flag anything unclear, unnatural, untranslated, or difficult to read.
The playtest runs from Friday, September 4 at 10:00 AM PT through Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00 AM PT. Because this is an unreleased development build, bugs and content changes are expected before the September update goes live, and feedback is being routed through the Xbox Insider Hub and the console’s Report a problem flow.
“This is an unreleased development build, so players may encounter bugs and content may change.”
