Curve Games partners with Wayfinder Studios to publish online co-op RPG Wyldheart
GamesIndustry.biz reports Curve Games has partnered with Wayfinder Studios to publish Wyldheart, the studio’s online co-op RPG. For developers, the interesting part is less the logo swap and more the signal: Curve is positioning itself around distinctive indie bets after being acquired by Nazara Technologies last May for £21.7 million.
Wayfinder Studios was founded in 2020 in Sweden by former EA DICE staff, including ex-creative director Dennis Brännvall and former studio director Fia Tjernberg. The team also includes DICE alumni Manne Ederyd and Adam Clark, which gives the project a strong AAA pedigree even as it aims at a more community-driven, smaller-scale online structure.
Wyldheart has already built meaningful traction, with more than 375,000 Steam wishlists and €248,000 raised on Kickstarter. That kind of early demand matters for both production planning and publishing leverage, especially for online games where scope, retention goals, and community expectations can quickly get expensive if the foundation is shaky.
Brännvall said the studio needed a partner that understood what it was making and who it was for, while Curve CEO Stuart Dinsey framed the deal as part of a broader push toward ambitious investments in distinctive games and independent studios. Wayfinder has also described Wyldheart as an attempt to bring more innovation to a genre it feels has been too conservative, with persistent-world ideas shaped around private servers and smaller communities rather than massive shards.
