New publisher PUBLSH launches with Disco Elysium-inspired title Pera Coda
GamesIndustry.biz reports that former Petrol leadership has launched PUBLSH, a new California-based publisher built around a more hands-on, flexible publishing model. Co-founded in 2025 by CEO Ben Granados and chief strategy officer Samuel Clarke, the company says it wants to offer publisher-level support without taking publisher-level control.
PUBLSH is starting with Pera Coda, an episodic murder mystery from Turkish studio Elyzio and its internal division Falan Studio. The game is described as Disco Elysium-inspired, with point-and-click investigation layered over psychological storytelling, and it is slated for PC in 2027.
The publisher says it is currently funded by its founders and may later bring in a small group of outside investors aligned with its long-term plan. Clarke says the team is aiming for roughly four to five games per year, with a focus on projects under $20 million in development budget.
For developers, the pitch is straightforward: deeper operational support, tailored financing, and closer collaboration than many larger publishing deals allow. PUBLSH is leaning on experience across strategy, business development, financing, platform and distribution relationships, plus marketing and go-to-market execution, which should make it especially relevant for studios looking for a partner rather than a traditional gatekeeper.
