Gamescom 2026 attendance rose 6% to 368,000 visitors
GamesIndustry.biz says Gamescom 2026 drew 368,000 visitors from 131 countries, a 6% increase over 2025. The show also expanded on the exhibitor side, with 1,743 companies from 66 countries, and 72% of participants coming from outside Germany. Brazil, Canada, and the US posted the strongest growth, underscoring how international the event has become.
For developers, Gamescom Dev is the more interesting barometer: attendance rose 15% to 6,200 visitors, with 397 speakers, 238 sessions, and 18 stages. The conference ran ahead of the main show and was joined by more than 2,500 companies from 95 countries across Gamescom Dev and the indie expo, suggesting the event continues to function as a serious networking and deal-making venue rather than just a consumer showcase.
Gamescom's digital reach was also substantial, with more than 624 million global views by Saturday evening. Opening Night Live accounted for 78 million views, while the Gamescom Awesome Indies Show topped 302,000 viewers, a jump of more than 670%. Gamescom Epix added 6.2 million page views, up about 9%.
The broader takeaway is that Gamescom remains a major pressure point for visibility, publishing conversations, and international business development. Gamescom Dev managing director Frederik Hammes said the survey pointed to smaller studios as the biggest growth opportunity in the market, which lines up with the event's growing indie and international footprint. Gamescom 2027 is set for August 25-29, with Gamescom Dev on August 23-24.
