Defold Game Jam 2026 starts on Sunday
Defold Foundation says the Defold Game Jam 2026 begins this Sunday, September 20, and is being paired with rewards, prizes, partner challenges, and free gifts for participants. For teams and solo devs already working in Defold, that makes this more than a weekend contest: it’s also a chance to pick up platform-specific advice while building something shippable.
The jam is preceded by a free Defold Online Conference focused on multiplayer, web and mobile publishing, monetization, animation, shaders, and game development platforms. The first day opened on Friday with talks from Heroic Labs, Wavedash, Google, and Halfstar, and those sessions are being recorded for later release on Defold’s YouTube channel.
Three more talks are scheduled for Saturday, September 19: SpriteLoop on a 2D animation workflow at 17:00 CEST, a Poki presentation and live Q&A at 18:00 CEST, and a Photon presentation and live Q&A at 19:00 CEST. That mix should be especially useful for developers weighing distribution, backend, and animation pipeline choices.
For experienced developers, the practical value here is the combination of Community pressure-testing and focused talks around production concerns. If you’re evaluating Defold for a jam prototype or a lightweight release pipeline, this is a good window to compare workflows and ask questions directly.

The first day of the conference kicked off on Friday with talks from Heroic Labs, Wavedash, Google and Halfstar - if you missed it, don't worry, as these were recorded and will be published on Defold's YouTube channel.
There are three more talks coming on Saturday, September 19:

We invite you to take part in the talks, ask questions and perhaps also joining the jam and making a game with Defold!
Good luck,
Paweł
